The Pride continues

The Pride of Portsmouth trail officially ended on 13 September following a successful summer celebrating Portsmouth’s centenary year. However, the story of the lions is not over yet.

The sculptures will continue their journey through special events, permanent homes and future exhibitions, creating a lasting legacy for Portsmouth100.

See all 45 lions together again

Before moving to their next destinations, all 45 lion sculptures will be reunited for a special display at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

The reunion will give residents and visitors the first opportunity to see the entire pride together in one location after the city-wide trail. The display will form one of the centrepieces of the Our Naval City Festival and will provide a final opportunity to experience the lions as one collection.

Continue collecting in the app

The Pride of Portsmouth app remains available after the trail ends. Visitors attending the Dockyard display can continue collecting sculptures through the app.

Please note that the rewards programme ended when the trail officially closed on 13 September and no further rewards can be claimed.

What happens after the Dockyard reunion?

Permanent homes

Many of the lions will move to permanent homes across Portsmouth and beyond. This will allow residents and visitors to continue enjoying the sculptures long after the Portsmouth100 trail has ended.

Future location announcements will be shared as details are confirmed.

Future exhibitions

The lions will continue appearing at future displays and exhibitions as part of the project’s ongoing legacy. Some sculptures are expected to take part in additional exhibitions before reaching their permanent homes.

Pride of Portsmouth auction

Plans are being developed for a future auction of selected sculptures. The auction will provide an opportunity to own a unique piece of Portsmouth100 history while helping to support the long-term legacy of the project. It is proposed that proceeds from the future lion auction will support a youth-focused legacy project, helping to create opportunities for young people in Portsmouth.

Further details will be announced when available.
