The Mariner is inspired by the artist’s many years living in Portsmouth. The power and beauty of the ocean – the force that helped shape the small town into the city it is today – has had a strong influence on both his life and creative work. Although his practice spans a wide range of subjects and styles, he is always drawn back to the sea and to Portsmouth.
