Location: Moving around the city
Emilie worked with children across the Easter HAF programme, encouraging them to creatively reflect on their experiences. A constellation of star designs was created, each one inspired by themes that were meaningful to them, from favourite activities and foods to friendships and new skills. Each star represents a child’s voice, imagination, memories and the impact HAF Fun Pompey has had on their lives. Three of these designs have been selected to take pride of place on the unicorn.
HAF workshops encourage young people to communicate, make friends and just HAF fun! This design is whimsical and reflects the creativity of the children. Tulips are a recurring motif in Emilie’s work and a lovely way to represent growth. The stars stem from the Portsmouth Crest where the Lion and Unicorn proudly hold the Portsmouth star and crescent moon. I wanted this to reflect hope. The young people give us hope for the future.
