Sea-Lion is a fin-tastic celebration of Portsmouth’s seafront soul. Inspired by the much loved Blue Reef Aquarium, the vibrant sculpture shows a vibrant underwater world. Swirling turquoise blues come alive with drifting seaweed, colourful coral and shimmering schools of tropical fish.
The lion’s face is transformed into an octopus, with intelligent eyes and flowing tentacles that weave through the flowing mane. Part sea creature and part guardian, Sea-Lion invites curiosity and play. It reminds viewers that the ocean is full of life and transformation, where imagination swims with life beneath the surface.
