Pixel King blends 1980s arcade culture with Portsmouth’s identity as both a historic port city and growing hub for gaming and digital creativity. Its pixelated look and Pac-Man inspired mane makes a nod to the Retro Arcade classics at Clarence Pier. This is a long-standing Southsea landmark that reflects Portsmouth’s seaside entertainment heritage.
The sense of nostalgia sits alongside the city’s creative scene, including its expanding games industry, local creative studios, Comic Con events, and award-winning Computer Games Design courses at the University of Portsmouth. Many graduates at the university have gained national recognition through TIGA Games Education Awards.
