One Hundred Voices: A Portsmouth Patchwork celebrates the voices of the LGBTQ+ community who call Portsmouth home.
Angela has worked closely with Portsmouth Pride to collect memories and reflections from the community of their time spent within the city throughout the years, their thoughts about Portsmouth, what they love about our island city and what makes it special to them. Through both live and online community engagement efforts to access a diverse range of people in the Pride community, we have collected One Hundred Voices.
Portsmouth is special because of the people who live here, and this is an opportunity to include one hundred voices to celebrate one hundred years. Our many beautifully diverse communities make this place what it is, and when we come together and celebrate those differences, we are stronger.
Angela’s artwork is a direct reflection of these collected voices – including their stories and memories, symbols they have identified as representative of Portsmouth and their thoughts make up this Portsmouth Patchwork.
