Lionel Leeks

Created by: Georgina Luck

Sponsored by: Southern Co-op

Location: Milton Park

Lionel Leeks takes its inspiration from Sir Alec Rose’s greengrocers at 38 Osborne Road, Southsea. This is a place bursting with everyday life, neighbourly faces, and shared stories. It was more than a shop, it was where confidence grew and big dreams quietly took shape.

Lionel Leeks is decorated with fruits and vegetables painted in vibrant acrylic inks, celebrating abundance, nourishment, and the simple joy of people coming together. In the background, a map races Sir Alec Rose’s solo sailing route, linking this lively local starting point to an incredible journey around the world. The design is cheerful, welcoming, and uplifting, celebrating the strength, spirit, and togetherness of the local community.
