Foster Families of Portsmouth

Created by: Daisy Kate

Sponsored by: Foster Portsmouth

Location: Portsmouth Guildhall

Every thriving adult has been shaped by the care of their families and communities. For some children, foster care provides them the safety, stability and encouragement they need to grow. As the UK’s first officially recognised Fostering Friendly City, Portsmouth is home to a remarkable network of foster families whose care helps to shape the city’s future.

This lion will celebrate their dedication through colourful, joyful, lively portraits of real people. Created sensitively and collaboratively, the lion will also carry the voices of participants through testimonies. Families will be delighted to recognise their faces on the lion, and affirm them as valued members of the community. This lion will highlight foster families’ vital contribution to Portsmouth’s rich cultural life.
